Multi-Country Fiscalisation Integrations for Retail POS

Problem

A retail POS system has to follow the fiscal rules of every country it is sold in, and each country has its own system and its own reporting rules. I add those countries to a retail software platform, across two product companies and two Scrum teams.

Approach

• I implement the integration for a new country in C# on .NET, for the POS platform and for the fiscal compliance product.
• As a part of two Scrum teams I plan my own workload, so requirements and priorities reach each side.
• I mentor junior developers through code review on this work.

Outcomes

• Fiscal integrations for several countries are part of the platform.
• The rules for each country are written down as technical requirements the team works from.
