Every good website needs an about me page, or so I heard. So for the sake of completeness here is mine.

Let me introduce myself. My name is Ziga Petek, I am a Full-stack developer based in Europe with 12 years of experience.

While working in the computer industry I stumbled upon every possible field of programming, from web development to data science and artificial intelligence. And I have yet to find a challenge I would not be able to master.

With 11 years I became interested in programming and have been in this field ever since. I started my career path by doing an internship while still at college and later on, I became the technical assistant in the faculty for electrical engineering and computer science in Maribor.

Within a year I became a teaching assistant in the laboratory for artificial intelligence and computer graphics. In 2012 I left the faculty and pursued a career in the private sector. I worked in the private sector ever since, building my first content management system from scratch in 2012.

In 2014 I began stumbling around big data and data science building systems to analyze terabytes of data and built my first big data collection system. In 2018 I found myself in the role of the lead senior developer managing my team of developers.

What about my personal life? I am a geek and a father of a beautiful daughter, I have a coffee addiction and the occasional passion for sports.

My passion for sports activities comes and goes and is in sync with my passion for junk food. The more I love burgers the less I like sports. So technically I found a link between junk food and physical activity, how about that.
